Alice in Wonderland you say...
Well I have gone back to my old ways, designing for Interiors. I have had the urge to draw something on a really large scale and had the idea of creating a bespoke wallpaper length which will all be hand drawn. The length will be based around Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and will combine a mix of different medias to create some interesting effects. Lets see how it goes...

What ive been up to!
Well its been a while since my last check in. Ive just got back from an amazing week at New Designers in London, and I came home inspired to do some drawing and get back into printing. Im working on a new project, combining digital print and screen print. As I always design interior fabrics and wall coverings, I am going to challenge my self with this project. It will combine prints for fashion and interiors, as well as home accessories, so I cant wait to start printing and making. As always though, a project starts with drawings, and I have been out to buy a new sketchbook to start this. Here is something im working on at the moment.

Some of my Lengths!
Well i am finally finnished printing my lengths, they are all three metres long and i have tried to consider size of composition of imagery so that they all work well together in a collection. I am really pleased with the way they have turned out and cant wait to display them at the degree show!

First Length!!!
Well after a few days preparation i have finally printed my first length! It has worked really well, I used illuminated discharge to print it with, so i was really scared to steam it and wash it incase the colours disappeared, but luckily they didnt!! As it is a length for furnishing fabric, i decided to hang it at a window to see what it looked like, luckily we were redecorating the living room so i get a better idea of what it would look like in a home.

Heres on im working on at the moment!
Well im on to my second last paint out. For this one i really wanted to try something different, so i went to a bit of digital design, which i tend to avoid like the plague (im not the best on computers) and the collage my design on the top using watercolours and pencil drawings, i also lamintated some of my roses to give the effect of what could be a clear gloss foil on fabric. I intend to add swarovski crystals into the centre of the roses but these are still on order.
All About Me!
Well i have finally finnised my Professional Practice Portfolio, i am really pleased with how it has turned out and all my hard work has finally paid off! I tried to make it fit in with the theme of my FMP, so i wanted it to look quite vintage, i have hand printed all of my folders and inside is a combination of hand made stationary and professional documents.

Design Mad!
Well here is another one of my finnished designs, ready to be printed onto fabric, i am not looking forward to doing koda traces for all of these! I am pleased with this one, i like how it is a contrast to my other designs but still works with them as part of a collection.

Development
Well after a few drawing sheets, doing them in my usual way, i decided to give them a more vintage feel, looking at textured surfaces like peeling paint, lace and discolouration. I want my drawings to look like they have been built up over time and have a contemporary vintage feel. After all my aim is to take something old and make it modern. This is one i am doing at the moment.

Perfectionist????
well after a couple of weeks of development, i decided i needed more imagery for me to make the most out of my designs. So as we are off this week for interim i thought id catch up on that, the first sheet i started i decided i really wanted to capture the detail in my imagery, and now i am starting to question why i did this because it is taking forever! I know i am a bit of a perfectionist and so far it is looking good. Ill let you know how i get on!

Drawing Time!
Well for the last few weeks i have been completing drawing sheets using imagery i have collected from a range of different primary sources. I have completed four drawing sheets at the moment and i am really pleased with the way they have turned out, but i feel like i need to have a break from drawing and start on my design development. I will come back to my drawings at a later stage but at the moment i cant wait to start putting my imagery into repeats for my furnishing fabrics!!!!

New Module... New Theme
After minor module, i felt like i needed a bit of a change of scenery! So the theme i have chosen to pick for my Final Major Project is titled 'Gran'. It all about a mixture of old and new, creating a feeling that something has been built up over time but giving it a contemporary twist. I am very excited about this module and i cannot wait to get started with my drawing!
